Started in 1972 with the goal of educating the public on dogs and dog ownership, the Wilkes-Barre Dog Training Club continues with this goal today. Education is done not only through the dog training classes offered to the public, but also through our Pet demos of different dog sports, and seminars with nationally known speakers. The public is invited to attend club meetings which are held at 7 p.m. on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at the club training building at 320 Rear Lee Park Avenue, Hanover Township. While the club has members who participate in obedience, musical freestyle, Rally Obedience, agility, field events, therapy dogs and Schutzhund, people who don’t participate in these areas are welcome to join.
